Italy Day 9 gallery

The pinecone, retrieved from a Roman ruin.
Our final day starts in Amalfi, and we get to Rome in time to do a whilrlwind tour of the Vatican amidst huge crowds.

Brilliant blue sky and the moon over Amalfi as we depart in the early morning.
We travel back toward Bomerano, where we started the Sentiero Degli Dei
The tour group was huge.  It stretched arond the entire spiral stair.
The sun is strong outside the Vatican.

Crowds make it hard for Lily to see.  Unless there's a dad!
One of my favorites.
This family likes bad-ass girls.
So, is it just me, or is this guy's club compensating for something?
Crowds.  Crowds. Crowds.
Wall tapestries are amazing.
Map room is gool too!

We find a quiet spot, finally.
The light inside is amazing.
It's masive even for an adult.
Capturing the geometry brilliantly.
It looks like a portal to hell.
Churches need more skeletons.
Our Italy trip comes to a close as we exit.
